2010 Earthbuilding Conference & Tour

(and optional tour in Auckland on Monday)
This annual event is put on by EBANZ to expand the knowledge base about earth building for all interested people: maybe you are going to build in earth soon and want to meet knowledgeable people? Maybe you are an architect needing more information about technical aspects of earthen building? Just interested in going on a tour? I am! Join me and other likeminded people on this event featuring earth house tours, guest speakers and know-how exchange. A short EBANZ AGM is sheduled for Sunday afternoon.

2, Passive solar home designed by Johan Bernhardt and featured in his book. Grass roof!
3. Modern light weight timber framed home built with no treated timbers and featuring double glazed timber joinery and the biggest single panel of rammed earth to date .
4, "Earthsong" rammed earth eco village. See 2 storey Rammed earth apartment block!
5, A stone house built 20 years ago. Features Rammed earth internal walls. See how it is aging.
(Each home is chock full of eco features not listed above)
