Tour of Nelson 'Eco Houses'

Well, this weekend I'm doing a tour of some eco houses up in the Nelson region of New Zealand. I'm visiting three houses while I'm there... 2 on Saturday and another 1 on Sunday. The Nelson / Tasman area is an amazing place - statistically it is the 'sunniest place in New Zealand'. It's been a few years since I've visited this part of New Zealand and as well as viewing the eco houses I'm looking forward to experiencing the beauty of the area.

As you will see below, I've managed to find quite a variety of houses to look at. I'm in the very early stage (the research phase) of having my own eco house designed and built so it's going to be very interesting to get a close look at what others have done and to be able to chat to them about the process.

Powered Living

The first house I'm been shown through was designed by a company called Powered Living. The house is situated in the heart of the town of Nelson.

Solid Earth

The second house I'm looking at is an adobe building created by Solid Earth Adobe Buildings. The adobe house is a little bit out Nelson.

Finally on Sunday I'm doing a tour of a straw bale eco house just out of Nelson in a town called Brightwater.
