About Cloth Nappies

Cloth nappies don't cause nappy rash. Diet, health, chemicals and length of time between changes create nappy rash!

Polyacrylate (the absorbent gel found in most throw away nappies) was banned in tampons in 1985 because of its link to toxic shock syndrome.

There are no government controls on labelling for the chemicals inside throw away nappies and no conclusive evidence towards the long term health effects on our babies. It takes 4.5 trees per baby to manufacture enough throw away nappies for the conservative average of 2.5 years use. That's 1.3million trees for NZ babies using throw away nappies, every year!
