Genesis Architecture specializes in creating buildings which are healthy, ecological and uplifting to the soul. We are a member of the Building Biology and Ecology Institute of New Zealand and were formally known as the Nelson office of BBE Architects.

Our focus is on designing contemporary buildings that utilize natural materials, energy efficient design and technological solutions in harmony with timeless sustainability principles such as permaculture. Based in the Nelson region, Genesis Architecture works on all types of projects including art and music studios, birthing and health centres, community buildings, eco-housing, educational facilities, 'green' offices and spiritual and retreat centres. Our passion is using natural building methods, earthbuilding and traditional timber framing to create beautiful, enriching, healthy spaces.

In addition to ecological architecture design we also provide consultation on Sustainable Living design. This includes land and eco-subdivision consultation, permaculture design, building research and eco promotion and education through workshops and presentations.
