This home also has a business attached. We have a 3x6 office 6x6 garage plus three sheds and a joinery work shop. No traveling to work!
The house is amazingly spacious considering its diminutive exterior dimensions. Less is more as far as resource use is concerned, so we have designed a tardis - the rooms feel big with tall ceilings and lots of light. Every room, including the bathroom gets north light and there are no windows to the south. The joinery is cedar and rimu with brass hardware. The bathroom got special attention and fetures a granite vanity top the width of the room with mirrors and storage above. An L shaped farmers style kitchen allows for the table for 6-8 at its heart and the custom joinery has been desgned to give more than adaquate storage together with integrated dishwasher and a wall oven. The roof faces due north and is perfectly set for photovoltaics and solar water however water heating is accomplished with a heatpump system for all year savings. In the garden there is a raised area for vegetables and apple, pear, plum, fejoa and almond trees, there are grapes,black berries, gooseberries and black currents too.
