Does anyone know of a source of wood fibre board (eg. http://www.gutex.de/en/Home/) in NZ which is thicker than 12mm?

I will import the "multiplex" top for watertight roof sarking and the "thermosafe" 200 for the roof insulation underneath when I finally get around to build the passive house:-)

is this stuff like our good 'ol Pinex softboard? But all new and high tech.
I'm looking at this time to buy a house and do a Passivhaus retrofit. Ripping off the roof and cladding and completely re-enveloping it with insulation panels would be THE fundamental approach I'd take to achieving this.
No doubt the building inspector will struggle with this concept. Sigh.

It is not comparable with the Pinex.
It is great material and great for blanket insulation onto timber framing and on top of the rafters with no thermal bridges.
It has been used for many many years and it offers also a good fire rating.
Building inspector should be no problem with the paperwork provided.

This is a great way to insulate an external timber framed wall to 21 st century standard.\
Good for renovation and newbuild
