Thanks RGM. I'd love to see some photos of how you put the planks in place and how they are placed between floor and joist.

Sounds like a careful and thorough installation RGM.
Just one question. Is rising damp a condition that you contend with in your case ie: damp soil conditions under the house? I'm not sure how much it would affect things, but it always pays to consider all moisture sources (and drying directions) when using polystyrene.
Your floor sounds very toasty - it would be great to see a few pictures.

So, can you control the individual ducts? E.G Shut off the main zone and leave bedrooms on, by remote?

The main Heatpump has to be on but the duct by the bedrooms can be adjusted by winding the vent in or out. I have managed to balance it so that when it's 22 degrees in lounge it's 18 in the bedrooms. At night when it drops to 18 in lounge it 16 in bedrooms which is a nice temperature to sleep in. Much better than before I did the work, we used to have oil filled electric radiators and electric blankets in the bedrooms, now we don't use either.
If I did a new house, I would put in a fully ducted system but they come in at $16,000 this unit was 10

If you were building a new house, and an underfloor system also cost $16,000 - (far superior for heating), would you still put a fully ducted system in?
If so, please give your reasons. Just curious.

Hi Caziques It would depend on wether the house was single or multi- story, if single an underfloor system would work well but if I were building a multi-story house then i would go for ducted. If I were building in an earthquake zone then I would build the house on piles insulate the underfloor and put in a ducted system.

I Understand there is a thermal break where the joists touch the floor, but they are 6 X 2's and wood isn't a very good conductor. There is also foil between joists and floor.

Nice looking job.
The foil won't be much use any more, (other than as a air barrier if no holes) unless there is an air gap around it as conduction becomes the way heat is transferred. Doesn't matter as the poly does a better job.
I watched an old DIY rescue show a while ago where the (experts) proudly put foil between the floorboards and a layer of OSB, sheeze!
